Dr. Shakeel is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Virtual University of Pakistan, where he contributes to distance learning across the country. Prior to joining Virtual University, he taught various courses at Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad from 2013 to 2019. Quaid-e-Azam University is one of the top leading institutes in Pakistan. Dr. Shakeel has been actively involved in research for over a decade. He has published more than ten research papers in renowned international journals such as Energy, Energy and Environment, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, and The Singapore Economic Review. This indicates his expertise and contributions to the field of economics and related areas. Apart from publishing research papers, Dr. Shakeel serves as a reviewer for both international and national journals. This demonstrates his commitment to scholarly rigor and the evaluation of research articles. Additionally, he is a board member of various national journals, including the Baluchistan Think Tank Network (BTTN) journal, among others. As a board member, he likely plays a role in guiding the editorial process and ensuring the quality of published work. At Virtual University of Pakistan, Dr. Shakeel takes an active role in leading research-related activities. He focuses on enhancing the research culture by providing faculty development training and collaborating with senior researchers. These initiatives aim to foster a research-oriented environment and promote the growth of research capabilities within the university. In terms of academic qualifications, Dr. Shakeel obtained his Master's and M.Phil degrees in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University. He further pursued a PhD in Economics from Federal Urdu University in Islamabad, indicating his commitment to advancing his knowledge and expertise in the field.
