Introduction
Diploma in Education has been designed with a core purpose of training and developing teachers who either intend to join or already serving in schools by polishing their pedagogical skills. The program aims to equip prospective teachers with latest techniques of classroom management, assessment and evaluation.
Program Objectives
After completing the Diploma in education, the prospective teachers will have a sound knowledge of:

theories of learning enabling them to incorporate constructive teaching approach in their classes;

formative and summative assessment techniques to enhance and monitor understanding of students;

pedagogical approaches to teach different subjects in elementary schools.
Admission Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university / institute in any discipline with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
However, candidates having less than 45% marks will be eligible for admission after successful completion of “Zero Semester”.
Course Exemption
Course exemption is not allowed.
Duration
It is a one-year duration program that comprises two semesters. Each semester has 18 weeks duration.

Assessment of Study Progress
The students’ study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, on-line quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), mid-term and final term exams. The mid-term and final term exams are conducted at VU’s designated centers and usually count for 80 to 85% of the total marks for a course.
Award of Diploma
To be eligible for the award of Diploma in Education, students enrolled in Fall 2021 semester are required to complete course work program (minimum two semesters) of at least 31 credit hours course work with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
Whereas, for all previously enrolled batches, the students are required to complete at least 30 credit hours with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00.
