VU's 8th Convocation held at Bahawalpur

Virtual University of Pakistan commemorated 8th convocation for its students from Bahwalpur and Cholistan region at Four Seasons Banquet Hall, Bahwalpur.

A total of 500 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various degree programs. Merit certificates were also awarded to outstanding graduates. Prof. Dr. Talat Afza, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women University Bahwalpur graced the occasion as chief guest. Prof. Dr. Talat Afza, along with Dr. Naveed A Malik distributed awards to the high achievers to celebrate dedication in their respective disciplines.

Earlier in inaugural address, Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan welcomed the guests and profusely thanked Prof. Dr. Talat Afza and respected parents for gracing the auspicious event with their presence.  He said that VU is committed to spur the nation’s economic growth and development by converting knowledge into practical experience. He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to serve the country. He urged that the young graduates should never stop learning and continue acquiring knowledge throughout their lives. Dr. Naveed A Malik also highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education to the remotest areas of the country.

Proud parents, members of faculty, eminent personalities from academia, corporate and public sector attended the event. The ceremony was marked with deep appreciation from parents and faculty with best wishes for the future.
