National Bank of Pakistan Student Loan Scheme

The State Bank of Pakistan had launched an interest-free loan scheme for students of Public Sector Universities/Institutes in February, 2001. Applications from eligible students are invited for the grant of loans. Application Form may be downloaded here and also available at the designated branches of NBP. All the interested students are required to fill up the application form and submit to VU for verification well before the last date (which is September 15, 2018) published at National Bank website (http://www.nbp.com.pk/SLFiles/StudentLoanDetails.PDF). The same form will be returned to the student after necessary attestations for onward submission to NBP designated branches by the students.

Students pursuing studies in the following subjects are eligible to apply.

1.

Computer Science/Information System and Technology including Hardware

2.

Mathematics

3.

Commerce

4.

Business Management Sciences

5.

Economics, Statistics and Econometrics

6.

Biology, Molecular Biology & Genetics

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eligibility

Under the scheme the students are eligible to apply for loans mentioned below:-

  • He/She has obtained admission on merit through normal course/procedure in approved universities/colleges of the public castor mentioned in the NBP website www.nbp.com.pk/studentloan
  • He/She falls the age bracket of:- (at the time of admission)

Name of Study                                              Age Limit

For Graduation Not exceeding                        21 years

For Post-Graduation Not exceeding               31 years

For PhDs Not exceeding                                36 years

  • He/She has secured 70% marks in the last public examination
  • He/She is unable to pursue studies sue to financial constraints

Instructions

Each applicant must submit the application on the prescribed form in duplicate, complete in all respect and must be supported by attested copies mentioned below: -

  1. Certificate from the Vice Chancellor/Registrar/Principal must be on the institution letter head.
  2. Ensure that each column and blank space of bonafied certificate proforma enclosed have been filled properly and clearly according to requirement i.e. i) Date of Admission, ii) Subject, iii) Duration of Course, iv) Last public examination results, v) Present year of study.
  3. Matric, Intermediate Certificate, Graduation & Post-Graduation Degree.
  4. Detailed mark sheet of the last public examination passed.
  5. In case, if the parent(s)/Guardian are in service, the income certificate must be from the employer. For the rest it should be obtained from the Area Councilor of Union Council.
  6. Attested photocopies of Domicile and CNIC of parents and applicants.
