VU Lab on Wheels visits Sahiwal

The first mobile lab for students in the country by Virtual University of Pakistan visited Sahiwal on Wednesday, January 09, 2019. The purpose of its visit to Sahiwal was to provide wet lab facilities for practical sessions to all VU students at Sahiwal and surrounding areas. This mobile laboratory was accompanied by the trained staff and equipped with all necessary instrumentations required for practical training of ongoing degree programs in Faculty of Science & Technology.

In this connection, an awareness seminar was also arranged at Usmania Restaurant, Sahiwal. The event was attended by bureaucrats, academia and big number of students.

Mr. Farooq Sadiq, Additional Deputy Commissioner General, Sahiwal was the chief guest, whereas other important guests included Mr. Ramzan Khan, Principal Government Commerce College Sahiwal, Dr. Ahmed Ali, Director ORIC, COMSATS University, Sahiwal Campus.  A big number of noted academicians of Sahiwal city also attended the event.

Prof. Dr. Masroor Ellahi Babar, Dean Faculty of Science Technology briefed the participants about Virtual University and its mode of education. He said that mobile laboratory will give hands-on experience to students in research of bio-sciences and technology. Students who live in far flung areas where none of the University established labs are accessible will now be able to benefit from Mobile Lab. He further told that this lab would also be utilized for community education and awareness campaigns.

Mr. Syed Kashif ul Hasnain, Marketing Executive, VU also briefed the participants. He told that its VU’s mission to encourage the excitement of scientific discoveries and skill development for the students of far flung and economically disadvantaged areas.

All guests lauded first-of-its-kind initiative by Virtual University to promote quality education and encouraging hands-on learning across the country.
