Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) at Virtual University of Pakistan organized its 2nd session on “Intellectual Property Rights” (IPR) at Lawrence Road Office Lahore on January 29, 2019.

Ms. Shakira Khurshid, Patent Examiner, IPO Regional Office Lahore was the resource person at the event. She delivered the lecture on IP laws and how to file the patent application. She further explained IP types, their benefits, duration and what rights a patent provide to the patent filer.  Ms. Shakira Khurshid also discussed patent ordinance, legal requirements for patentability and need for patenting.

The session concluded with question and answer round, where participants were able to get comprehensive responses to their queries.
