Virtual University of Pakistan commemorated 8th convocation for its students from Sindh at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi. A total of 394 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various graduate degree programs, 5 gold medals and 16 merit certificates were also awarded to outstanding graduates. An audience included proud parents, members of faculty, eminent personalities from academia, corporate and public sector attended the event.
The convocation was declared open by Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan. Addressing the audience, Dr. Naveed A Malik, welcomed the guests and thanked Prof. Dr. Zubair A. Shaikh, President M.A Jinnah University Karachi for his presence as chief guest of the ceremony. In his welcome address Dr. Naveed A Malik highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering education through communication technology and contributing in the provision of quality education to the remotest areas of the country.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Zubair A. Shaikh congratulated the students on their success and their parents for making it possible. He further said that Virtual University has a distinctly reputed place in the list of top national universities.
Dr. Naveed A Malik, along with Prof. Dr. Zubair A. Shaikh distributed medals and awards to the high achievers to celebrate dedication in their respective disciplines.
