8th Convocation of Virtual University held at Islamabad

Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) commemorated its 8th convocation at Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad. A total of 1830 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various graduate degree programs. Meanwhile, 10 gold medals and 39 merit certificates were also awarded to the outstanding graduates. Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahemd was the chief guest at the convocation while Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector VU presided over it. The convocation was declared open by Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan. Addressing the jubilant audience on this auspicious occasion he welcomed the guests and profusely thanked Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC, for gracing the auspicious event with his presence. He congratulated the students for stepping into practical life after a successful academic career.

In his welcome address, Dr. Naveed A Malik highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country. He further said that VU will continue its quest for excellence in academics, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and play an active role for the socio-economic development of the country.

The Chairman of  HEC, along with Dr. Naveed A Malik distributed medals and awards to the high achievers to celebrate dedication in their respective disciplines. 

An audience including proud parents, faculty members, Alumni, eminent personalities from academia, corporate and public sector attended the event.
