Virtual University of Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Diamond Group of Industries to promote academia-industry linkages that would facilitate the advancement and innovation in industry and education sector. Group CFO Mr. Adnan-ul-Haq and Director Finance VU, Mr. Naeem Tariq signed the MoU.

Both organizations agreed to enhance mutual collaboration in many areas including staff training & development for capacity building, designing of academic and research programs, internship opportunities to VU students, discount on products of DGI to VU students and staff, scholarships to VU students and achievement awards to VU high achievers.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at VU Head Office, Mr. Adnan-ul-Haq was of the view that developed nations have achieved tremendous economic progress only by promoting academia-industry linkages and we should learn from their experience how to lay the foundation for sustainable economic development of our country. Director Finance, Mr. Naeem Tariq hoped that MoU of cooperation between DGI and VU would contribute positively to bridge the gap between the academia and industry and promote demand-driven education. He was optimistic that DGI and Virtual University’s cooperation would produce dynamic results for students and the industry as well.
