Dr. Zamir is serving as an assistant professor of economics at Virtual University of Pakistan. Prior to this, Dr. Khan has worked as Consultant at National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA) under the capacity building project of World Bank. In addition, as a visiting faculty member he has taught various introductory and advanced economic courses at leading universities including Quaid-I-Azam University, National University of Science & Technology, and National University of Modern Languages. Besides, Dr. Zamir has published his research in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of rail transport planning & management, transportation research record, case studies on transport policy, sustainable energy technologies and assessments, environmental science and pollution research. He completed his Masters, M.Phil. and Doctoral studies from School of Economics, Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad.

Analyzing Road Transport (Passenger and Freight) Demand in Pakistan with Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag Co-Integration Approach
This research analyzes the important driving factors of both road passenger and freight transport in Pakistan with ARDL co-integration approach. The results show that fuel price, per-capita income, urbanization and road density significantly impact road passenger transport, while fuel price, industrial production and international trade are important factors or road freight transport.

A dynamic analysis of rail travel demand in Pakistan
This study identifies the main determinants of rail passenger transport for Pakistan using time series data from 1980 to 2017. the findings of Johansen co-integration test show that rail fare, GDP, road transport costs, and rail network length are important factors for rail passenger travel in Pakistan.

Estimating the demand for rail freight transport in Pakistan: A time series analysis
This paper estimates the rail freight demand for Pakistan using time series data over 1972-2017. The influencing factors of rail freight demand are estimated for Both short-and long-run within Johansen co-integration framework. the findings show that rail freight rate and gross value added are the most significant determinants of rail freight demand for Pakistan.
