Dr. Muhammad Ahsan is an accomplished academic professional currently holding the position of Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at the Virtual University of Pakistan. He has been a part of the Virtual University for the past nineteen years, since February 2005. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Management and Technology, Lahore, in December 2021, focusing on computational mathematics. His research interests encompass graph theory, particularly the edge metric dimension of planar graphs, and he has also contributed to research on multicriteria decision-making techniques. Dr. Ahsan has authored twelve impact factor articles and supervised one MPhil student in 2020. Passionate about teaching, Dr. Ahsan enjoys engaging students in courses such as calculus, group theory, fuzzy logic, and real analysis. Alongside his teaching, he possesses extensive experience in online computer-based networks and proficiency in FORTRAN for numerical problems. In 2009, he achieved a Diploma for Academic Excellence in Mathematics, specializing in Algebra, from the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, G. C. University, Lahore. Dr. Ahsan is also an active member of the Punjab Mathematical Society. Additionally, Dr. Ahsan is proficient in using Math-Type and Mathematica for creating 3D images of mathematical equations.
