Welcome to the Department of Statistics at the Virtual University of Pakistan!

As the Incharge of the department, it is my pleasure to greet all our students, faculty, and visitors. Since joining the university in 2007, I’ve witnessed the remarkable growth of this department from its early foundations to its current standing as a leading provider of quality statistical education in Pakistan.

Our department offers a dynamic academic environment, driven by a mission to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical analytical skills. We currently offer over 20 video-based courses prepared by top experts from across the country. Our MSc Statistics program has earned a strong reputation, and we are now excited to launch our 4-Year BS Statistics program, allowing students to specialize in Data Science, Biostatistics, or General Statistics.

Statistics is not just about numbers—it is about making informed decisions in health, business, policy, and beyond. As our world becomes increasingly data-driven, the role of statistics becomes more vital than ever. Our programs are designed to prepare students to become leaders in data analysis, research, and decision-making.

With a committed team of over 16 regular faculty members, we regularly organize seminars, workshops, and conferences to ensure our students stay engaged with cutting-edge developments. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, our department continued to thrive, thanks to the robust online learning model of our university.
