Associate Degree in Public Administration

Introduction

Associate Degree in Public Administration is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices of public administration by using modern ICT. This 67-credit-hour degree program provides an opportunity for students to study at their own pace and from any location, while engaging with a curriculum that covers the essential aspects of public administration. This degree program prepares the students for entry-level positions in government agencies, nonprofit organisations, and beyond by imparting essential knowledge and skills required to thrive in this modern digital workspace. Moreover, this program lays the groundwork for continued academic success with seamless transfer opportunities to bachelor's degree programs. It would also get eligible candidates ready for Pakistan's Public Service Commission. Objectives

1. To provide understanding to the students regarding the basic principles and practices of Public Administration.

2. To prepare the student for continuous professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning in public administration.

3. To equip students with the interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective public service.

4. To develop an integrated understanding of multidisciplinary fields like arts and humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences to enrich their personal, professional, and civic lives.

Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate (equivalent to 12 years of education) with at least 45% marks.


Note: Candidates having ‘A’ levels are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/). Candidates having less than 45% marks will be eligible for admission after successful completion of “Zero Semester”.

Assessment Criteria

The students' study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), and mid-term and final-term examinations.

Award of Degree

To be eligible for the award of ADP, the students are required to complete prescribed course work of 67 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 out of 4.0.
