I heartily welcome you all to the Department of English, a place where you can probe into language and its multiple aspects. Here, you will learn how language collaborates with other areas of knowledge like computer science, technology, psychology, sociology, etc. and how new corridors of knowledge are established like computational linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and so on. In Applied Linguistics, each word is a unique and dynamic entity that makes you travel from the world of arbitrariness to a world of discernment and rationalism.

We, at the Department of English, are not just a group of academicians but a supportive family that acknowledges and appreciates your distinctive efforts. Our Department is composed of devoted teachers, well versed scholars, and seasoned researchers with diverse specializations covering the whole spectrum of linguistics and language studies. Our faculty members are readily available to help and mentor students around the clock. Keeping today’s demands in view, our Department does not only focus on imparting knowledge but also developing skills and insights that ultimately lead to exploration of the constantly flourishing field of linguistics.

Finally, yet importantly, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to the newly admitted students for securing admission in a University that never sleeps and a Department that best shapes your academic self. Simultaneously, I wish good luck to the already enrolled students and alumni that are indeed an integral part of our Department.
