The Department of Statistics aims to provide effective education and research in different areas of Statistics. The department is offering a graduate degree program and many service courses in various degree programs of Computer Sciences, Management and Education. Now the world is moving towards a data-driven economy and society where everything is depending on data. The demand of professionals who can handle, analyses and interpret the data is increasing rapidly. The Department is focusing on imparting quality education and promoting theoretical, computational, and applied knowledge in the subjects of Statistics, which enables the students to pursue their future careers in the field of academic, banking, NGOs, insurance firms or broadly in any analytic industry that uses and analyse the data.

Due to online mode of education, the department has spread the statistics knowledge to all the near and far areas of the country where sometimes other institutes are not able to reach.
