Department of Biological Sciences
The Department of Biological Sciences is committed to delivering education in the field of Biological Sciences with a specific focus on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Zoology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology. Our primary objective is to bring education to your doorstep or nearby, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all. Our mission is to produce learned and skilled professionals with the ability to work independently, think critically and actively contribute to the improvement of society.
Currently we are offering BS Biotechnology and BS Zoology while admission in MS programs are temporarily on hold. Our dedicated team of Senior Professor, Associated Professors, Assistant Professors, Lecturers and Tutors collaboratively works to ensure the performance of practical classes and quality of education. Majority faculty members are not only highly qualified but also well-trained, having expertise from different foreign universities.
We believe in fostering a culture of collaboration, both within the VU departments and in partnership with other biological sciences departments nationally and internationally. We constantly strive to deliver education through on-line and in-person/face-to-face mode. We are providing hands-on learning facilities in 22 cities across the country with our physical laboratories and a Mobile lab. (lab-on-wheel). We are pioneers in the country, introducing first-of-its-kind customized Mobile lab. (lab-on-wheel) empowering students to engage in practical learning experiences right in the remote area of the country.
Our programs are designed to provide a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in various biological disciplines.

As the Head of the Department, I am proud to lead a team of passionate faculty members who are committed to achieving excellence in education.
Other than digital-based curriculum, our Unique Aspects that sets us apart is lab-on-wheel (Mobile lab.) and physical laboratories facilities across the country, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments. Our mobile lab travels from city to city to conduct practical classes in remote areas where graduating students encounter challenges in accessing city-based laboratory facilities. We take pride in offering a robust education with flexible time slots in contents delivery, practical class scheduling and exam dates.
Our goal is to prepare students to become not only well-rounded professionals but also responsible stewards of the environment and contributors to the betterment of society.
