The Department of Sociology at Virtual University of Pakistan is serving as an intellectual powerhouse of the institution which provides a dynamic platform to students for exploring cultures, human interaction among societies and different social phenomena. The mission of the Department of Sociology is to promote deeper understanding of fundamental concepts of Sociology and equip students with conceptual tools and scientific knowledge. The Department's commitment to diversity and inclusivity creates a welcoming and supportive environment for students from all walks of life.  The core strength of the Department lies in its faculty; the Department has six PhD faculty members, and rest of the faculty members have eighteen years of education. All the faculty members are seasoned researchers having expertise in diverse sociological fields. Moreover, the faculty is trained in mentoring students in online mode.

Our curriculum is designed in a way that students at the Department of Sociology develop adequate research skills through rigorous online training of Quantitative and Qualitative research methods.
