VU Virtual University of Pakistan
Professional Development Center

At the University of Pakistan, we understand that circumstances can sometimes necessitate the cancellation of scheduled events. This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures pertaining to event cancellations, both from the perspective of the University and the participants.

University's Right to Cancel:

Cancellation with Reasons: The University reserves the right to cancel an event due to a range of valid reasons, including but not limited to:

Unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, or emergencies.
Low participant turnout that could impact the event's effectiveness.
Unavailability of essential resources or facilities.
Cancellation Without Reasons: In exceptional cases, the University may opt to cancel an event without providing specific reasons. Such situations might arise due to factors beyond the University's control or logistical challenges that hinder the event's successful execution.

Participant's Understanding:

Transparency and Communication:
In cases where the University decides to cancel an event, participants will be promptly informed through the contact information provided during registration. The University will strive to provide reasonable notice whenever possible.

Refunds and Credits:

If an event is canceled by the University, participants who have already paid registration fees will be eligible for a full refund.
In some cases, the University might offer participants the option to transfer their registration fees to a rescheduled event or a different event of their choice.
Alternative Arrangements:
The University may explore alternative arrangements in situations where the original event cannot proceed as planned. This could involve rescheduling the event, moving it to an online format, or offering participants the opportunity to attend similar future events.

Force Majeure:

It's important to note that certain circumstances, commonly referred to as "force majeure," might necessitate event cancellations without prior notice. These could include instances of political instability, acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or other unforeseen and unavoidable events that make event execution unsafe or impractical.

Participant's Responsibility:

Participants are encouraged to regularly check event communications and notifications to stay informed about any updates or changes related to the event. While the University strives to minimize disruptions, participants should acknowledge that some circumstances may be beyond our control.
