PhD

Career path

I have a 24 years social research and teaching experience at the university level. I have also worked as consultant (training, research and policy advise) with various government and non government organizations. After completion of my doctorate, I am serving as an Associate Professor at the Social Work Department, University of Punjab with an additional responsibility as the Director, Centre for Social Development and Social Entrepreneurship (CSDSE), PU, Lahore.

Education

Ph D, ‘Child Protection Policy in Pakistan’, the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia 2008-12

My doctoral research is on ''Child protection policy''. Child protection has been a widely contested concept and a topic of vigorous research in the global North. However, it lacks a global South perspective. Using Pakistan as a case and by employing qualitative research methodologies in a child rights analytical framework, I have tried to contribute to fill this gap.

M.A. (Public Policy, specialization in Development Administration), the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia 2003-04

M.A. (Social Work), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan 1991-93
