PEEF is a proactive scholarship scheme which provides funds at the doorstep of the talented and deserving students. Allocation of these scholarships is on the basis of Tehsils and District wise results of the students. More focus of these scholarships is towards the sixteen (16) less developed districts, especially from southern Punjab. Special quotas for orphans, children of government employees of BPS1-4, special children, children belonging to minorities, and children of civilians martyred in terrorist's attacks have also been allocated. The PEEF is also providing scholarship opportunities for higher education to the talented and needy students of other provinces AJK, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad Capital Territory through this program. Since the commencement of its operations in 2009; the PEEF so far has awarded more than 232,000 scholarships worth more than PKR. 11.5 billion. With the inclusion of current year's (2017-18) 125,000 scholarships; the total number of scholarship awarded will be raised to more than 350,000 (approx.) worth more than PKR. 17.00 billion.
