Virtual University of Pakistan offers admission twice in an academic year namely spring in the month of January/February and fall in the month of August/September each year.

Limited Seats on Merit Basis - Only within Pakistan:

Students can apply only in designated city/region. Each city will have its own merit. If any student wants to apply for more than one city, he/she must apply separately. They will not allow to go for practical other than merit city after admission.

2-Year/ 4-Semester Bachelor’s Degree (14-year education) with ‘Psychology’ as an elective subject (or any other relevant equivalent qualification) from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
Note:
  • Candidates holding bachelor’s degree in disciplines other than mentioned above may enter through Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Applied Psychology from VUP route.
  • Candidates holding PGD in Applied Psychology from VUP will be given course(s) exemptions accordingly upon continuation towards M.Sc. Applied Psychology Program.
M.Sc. Economics 2-Year/ 4-Semester Candidates having bachelor’s degree (14-year education) e.g., BA/ BSc/ B Com or equivalent with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4 are eligible to apply.
M.Sc. Mass Communication 2-Year/ 4-Semester Bachelor’s degree equivalent to 14-year education from a recognized University/Institute with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
Master of:
  • Computer Science (MCS)
  • Information Technology (MIT)
2-Year/ 4-Semester Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in any of the following subject: Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Commerce, Statistics, Economics, Engineering wherein two courses must be from the same department in a semester system or at least 150 marks weightage under annual system. Candidate must have at least 45% marks in the graduation degree. Candidate holding PGD in Computer & Information Technology, PGD in Business Administration dually issued by the recognized Institute / University are eligible for admission towards MCS Program.
Note:
Candidates who have not studied any one of the required above-mentioned subjects in their graduation are eligible for MCS admission provided they firstly qualify four courses namely Introduction to Computing, Business Mathematics & Statistics, Calculus and Analytical Geometry and English Comprehension by taking a MCS/MIT Deficiency Semester
However, candidates having less than 45% marks will be eligible for admission after successful completion of “Zero Semester”. (Note: Candidates holding bachelor’s degree with less than 45 % marks or 3rd Division but have not studied any of the required subjects Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or Engineering for admission to MCS/MIT are required to qualify the Deficiency Semester as well.)
Master of Education (M.Ed.) 1-Year/ 2-Semester B.Ed./ B.S.Ed. (3-year) with at least 45% marks in annual system or CGPA 2.0 out of 4 from a recognized university/institution.

Master of Business Economics (MB Econ.) 2-Year/ 4-Semester At least 45% marks or CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4 in B. Com, BBA (2- years) or B.Sc. (Math, Stat & Economics courses) from a recognized University/Institute.

M.Sc. Mathematics 2-Year/ 4-Semester Candidates having B.Sc. with Mathematics ‘A’ & Mathematics ‘B’ courses (bachelor’s degree 14-year education) with at least 45% marks in annual system or CGPA 2.00 out of 4 in semester system.
M.Sc. Statistics 2-Year/ 4-Semester Candidates having bachelor’s degree (14-year education) e.g., BA/ B.Sc. with Statistics as an elective subject from a recognized university/institution with a minimum 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
M.Sc. Zoology* 2-Year/ 4-Semester Candidates having Bachelor’s degree (14-year education) i.e. B.Sc. 2-year program with Zoology or any other related/ equivalent subject with at least 45% marks in annual system or CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4 in semester system are eligible to apply.

2-Year/4-Semester Applicants for admission to Associate Degree Program must have passed with at least 50% marks, Intermediate (Part I and II, or equivalent examination), or I. Com or ICS or DAE or ‘A’ level examinations. The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) ‘O’ levels and School Certificate (SC) examinations are considered equivalent to Matriculation, and the GCE ‘A’ levels is considered equivalent to the Intermediate examination. For the GCSE (‘O’) and SC examinations, grades in 6 subjects are considered. ‘A’ level candidates must have passed 3 subjects and are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad.
Associate Degree Education (in Service) 1-Year/2-Semester Minimum Intermediate (12 years) or equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks along profession qualification: CT or Diploma in Education and Minimum 3 Years teaching experience in recognized school are eligible for admission.

Diploma in Bioinformatics* 1-Year/2-Semester Minimum bachelor’s degree (14 years) from a recognized university/ institute in relevant fields of Biological/ Life Sciences with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4. No additional prerequisite will be required.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • WHO CAN APPLY FOR ADMISSION?
  • The applicants who are meeting with the prescribed admission eligibility criteria of the study program may apply for admission.
  • Admissions will be opened as per the schedule enlisted as above.
  • CNIC/B Form number is mandatory for the registration. CNIC mismatching will result in rejection of admission form.
  • Admissions will not be processed on the basis of Hope Certificate.
  • Uploaded documents in the Registration Interface/system should be clear, complete and readable. (i.e. scanned and uploaded as per given instructions).
  • It is the responsibility of the students to make a print of Admission Form and attach 3 sets of the documents (write admission form number on each document). Hard copy of the Admission Form along with requisite documents shall submit/courier direct to the Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Defence Road off Raiwind Road, Lahore.
  • The University will process admissions of applicants who will submit Admission Forms along with 03 sets academic documents in HARD COPY at the University till the prescribed date mentioned in the Admission Schedule.
  • The candidates intend to apply for course exemption/entry route or need-based scholarships forms are required to fill the respective form(s) which is the part of admission form. Incomplete/unfilled form(s) will not considered for course exemption or need-based scholarships.
  • Candidates applying on the basis of having ‘A’ levels or foreign diplomas/degrees are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/) and Higher Education Commission (HEC).
  • In case candidate is already enrolled at VU and his admission status is regular, he/she is required to cancel the old admission before applying for new admission.
  • Zero Semester is not applicable on the following programs: -
    • M.Ed.
    • M.Sc.
    • Applied Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics & Zoology.
