MS Computer Science MSCS Program is offered once in a year during each Fall session)	2-year Master’s or 4-year BS Degree (16-Years of education) in computing or a related discipline from a recognized University/Institute with at least CGPA 2.00 out of 4.0 or first division wherein GPA system is not implemented. Note: An HEC equivalence certificate will be required in case of foreign or local qualification that demands an additional clarification. Each candidate is required to pass the University’s Entry Test (with minimum 50% marks). Limited seats on merit basis. Offered within Pakistan only. Deficiency Courses: If the schedule of courses pursued by a candidate for MS in CS degree, does not provide adequate background, then he/she may be required to make up the deficiency by taking one or more additional course(s). The following courses have to be completed before entering the MS (CS) program: 1. Analysis of Algorithms 2. Assembly Lang/ Computer Architecture 3. Computer Networks 4. Computer Programming 5. FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT

Study Programs	Admission Eligibility Criteria
MBA (equivalent to MS)	Candidates having 16 years of qualification with minimum 50% marks or CGPA 2 out of 4 from any recognized institution in any discipline are eligible to get admission. Candidates having 16 years of qualification in Business/ Management/ Commerce/ Public Administration/ Equivalent will be eligible for a maximum exemption of 30 credit hours as per the rules. However, it will be mandatory for every candidate/student to pass the Entry Test, conducted on the pattern of GAT (General) by the Virtual University of Pakistan as per HEC policy, with at least a 50% score. After passing the written test, the candidate will have to appear in an interview. These students need to complete 60 credit hours of coursework for the award of the degree. Note: Limited seats are available on merit basis.

Note: An HEC equivalence certificate will be required in case of foreign or local qualification that require additional clarification. Limited seats on merit basis within Pakistan only. “Zero Semester” is not applicable.

Admission Instructions for New Applicants:

1. Eligibility Criteria for Admission

   Applicants must meet the minimum prescribed admission requirements for the chosen study program as published on the VU website. Applicants should ensure they have the following:

   1. Valid CNIC/B-Form Number: Provide a scanned copy (not a mobile photo).
   2. Valid Email Address: Preferably the applicant's own.
   3. Cell Phone Number: Preferably the applicant's own.
   4. Applicant’s Photograph: Passport-size with a blue background, scanned (not a mobile photo).
   5. Educational Documents: Scanned copies with clear readability (not mobile photos).
   6. Equivalence Certificate: Required from IBCC or HEC for A/O Level or foreign degree holders, if applicable.
   7. Course Exemption Documents (if applicable):
      • Original NOC from the previous institution.
      • Original incomplete result card.
      • Course content details for credit transfer applicants.
   8. Foreign or Dual National Applicants: Must complete all formalities with HEC and relevant authorities. Visit VU Foreign Admissions for details.
2. INFORMATION FOR MERIT BASED PROGRAMS
   1. Biological Science Programs:
      1. Applicants for BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, BS Zoology, Diploma in Bioinformatics, and Diploma in Molecular Biology must select lab preferences carefully as merit is determined LAB-wise.
      2. Lab city preferences cannot be changed after admission confirmation.
   2. Merit List Publication:
      1. Merit lists for Biological Science and MS Programs will be published on the VU website as per the admission schedule.
   3. Fee Submission:
      1. Successful candidates must deposit fees within the specified date published in Admission Schedule.
3. Admission through Course Exemption/Transfer of credit:
   1. General Route:
      1. Applicants with incomplete degrees from VU or other HEC-recognized universities/institutions may apply for transfer of credit hours/course exemptions as per the University policy.
      2. Such applicants will submit a hard copy of the Course Exemption Proforma with the original NOC, incomplete transcript, and course content at the time of application to the Registrar’s office, Lahore.
   2. BS Entry Route:
      1. Applicants holding a 2-year Associate Degree/BA/BSc can apply for 4-year BS programs per university policy.
4. GENERAL INFORMATION
   1. Admissions open as per the published schedule.
   2. Enter the correct CNIC/B-Form number during registration to avoid rejection.
   3. Late submission of admission forms will not be entertained.
   4. Documents must be uploaded as per instructions.
   5. Incomplete applications will be rejected; ensure all documents are clear and complete.
   6. Applicants already enrolled in VU must cancel previous admissions before applying again.
   7. Submit the admission fee for only one form; submitting multiple program fees may lead to cancellation of all applications.
   8. Accurate information is mandatory. False information may lead to blacklisting and confiscation of fees/degrees.
   9. The University reserves the right to reject incomplete applications or those submitted after the due date.
   NOTE:
   1. Biological Science programs and related diplomas are NOT available for overseas applicants.
   2. Zero Semester is not applicable for certain programs, including MS Computer Science, MBA (Eq. to MS), BS English, and others listed on the VU website.
5. Submission of Hard Copy Documents (Provisionally Admitted Students)
   Provisionally admitted students must submit hard copies of the following documents before the mid-semester examinations for Spring 2025:
   1. Attested copies of educational documents (two sets).
   2. CNIC/B-Form (two copies).
   3. Two passport-size photographs with a blue background.
   4. Equivalence certificates (if applicable).

Submission of Educational Documents:
All provisionally admitted students shall submit hard copy of their documents at the nearest selected Virtual University campus
