Dr. Akhtar Ali earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from UVAS, Lahore. He conducted his doctoral research at the Center for Cardiovascular Genetics, University College London, United Kingdom. Dr. Ali completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Provincial Key Laboratory of Genome Bioengineering, Wuhan, China. He is an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor and has supervised over 30 MS students. Additionally, he has secured national and international research projects and has authored 20 publications with impact factors to his credit. His research interests include molecular genetics and genome editing. He served at UVAS, Lahore as a research associate in 2009, a lecturer in 2011, and an Assistant Professor in 2015. In January 2016, he joined the Virtual University of Pakistan as an Assistant Professor. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Virtual University of Pakistan. |
