Dr. Aisha Mahmood, PhD, AFHEA, is a STEM educator and learning-experience designer who turns institutions into living labs for quality, equity, and digital transformation. She currently serves as Associate Professor (Education) at the Virtual University of Pakistan’s Directorate of Quality Enhancement, where she strengthens assessment frameworks, mentors faculty in innovative pedagogy, and aligns teaching with national standards.
Her pathway blends engineering rigor and educational insight—BSc (Electrical Engineering), MS (Computer Engineering), and a PhD in Engineering Education—grounding her practice in evidence, systems thinking, and human-centered design. At the University of Education, Lahore, she led major shifts in practice as Assistant Professor, MOOC Coordinator, and Team Lead for Digital Transformation & Learning Engineering, scaling teacher professional learning and AI-enhanced instructional platforms nationwide.
Aisha’s research and design focus on AI in Education, learning engineering, project-based learning, and design thinking—areas she deploys to build critical and creative capacities in future educators. She has co-led U.S. State Department–funded international collaborations—IDEA-STEM and IDEA-SPORT—linking classrooms to communities and leadership development, including for women in sports.
Recognized as an Associate Fellow of the UK Professional Standards Framework and winner of the UNESCO-IIOE Online Courses Competition, she pairs scholarly credibility with delivery at scale. As a National Academy of Higher Education trainer, she now equips Pakistan’s faculty and fresh PhDs to integrate technology with purpose and ethics.
In short, Dr. Mahmood designs high-trust, AI-powered learning ecosystems that help educators lead—with data, with empathy, and with measurable impact.
