Ms. Shafqet Yasmin, graduated in English (Literature) from the University of the Punjab and M.Phil in English Linguistics from Lahore Leads University, is serving as a Lecturer at the Department of English, Virtual University of Pakistan. She has served the deprived community of rural and suburban areas of Punjab in the field of education as an Area Manager (Academics) for five years by successfully using the platform of a trust organization—CARE Foundation (Cooperation for Advancement and Rehabilitation of Education). Considering the ground realities of the educational institutions in Pakistan, she chose the field of teaching and educational management with an objective to perform her role in developing an employable youth and thus changing the lives of the country fellows from the front. She has worked with various public and private institutions (VSO, DIL). She has attended workshops on ‘Raising standards of teaching processes’ by British Council, ‘The South Asian Teacher Training Project 2006’ by United States Education Foundation of Pakistan, and ‘Promoting Quality Education for Prosperous Pakistan’ by Iqbal Academy and worked as teacher trainer as well for CARE Foundation. She has been associated with the Department of English, Virtual University since January 2010 to date. Along the regular academic activities, she has been offering her services as coordinator MA ELT. Her plans of life are to join hands in educating the nation with her abilities and skills.
