The Department of Sociology at Virtual University (VU), in collaboration with Muslim Hands NGO, successfully organized a joint tree plantation event with the goal of promoting environmental sustainability and societal well-being. A total of 150 fruit trees were planted across the Raiwind Road and Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campuses, marking a meaningful contribution to a greener environment.
Representatives from Muslim Hands, led by Program Manager Ms. Asma Gul, actively took part in the initiative. The event also had the honor of welcoming distinguished guests such as Dr. Ambreen Anjum (Head of the Psychology Department), Dr. Sadia Jabeen (Head of the Sociology Department), and Dr. Sumbal Tahir (Head of the Education Department). The faculty members of Sociology department graced the occasion with their presence.
Organized under the thoughtful leadership of Mr. Muhammad Usman, Campus Manager at Raiwind Road, and hosted by Dr. Sidra Abbas, Lecturer in Sociology (VU) as focal person for the "Plant for Pakistan" campaign, the event was a resounding success and a testament to the collective effort toward environmental improvement. Special thanks were extended to the faculty of Education and other departments for their additional support.
