Virtual University of Pakistan and National College of Arts Sign Service Level A....

5th July 2024, Lahore, Pakistan — In a landmark collaboration, the Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and the National College of Arts (NCA) have signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to enhance digital capabilities and mutual support in academic and administrative domains. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both institutions.

Representing VUP, the attendees included Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti (S.I., T.I.), Rector; Prof. Dr. Mohsin Javed, Dean of Faculty of Sciences; Prof. Dr. Ather Azim Khan, Registrar; and Mr. Ehsen Zafar Puri, Director ICT. From NCA, the event saw the presence of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Nadeem, Former Registrar VUP; Bushra Saeed Khan, Acting Registrar; and Nomera Adil, Programme Coordinator/Deputy Controller Examination (Addl. Charge).

During the meeting, the senior management of both institutions discussed various topics including the development and integration of an online admission portal for NCA. The collaboration aims to leverage VUP’s expertise in digitalization, with the intent to strengthen both institutions through shared technological advancements.

Digitalization is the tool of the century. VUP’s extensive experience in this domain will be invaluable as we work together, stated by Dr. Murtaza Jafri, Vice Chancellor NCA. By joining forces, we can overcome our individual weaknesses and build on our strengths. He also highlighted the need for a dedicated studio to support students in content creation, benefiting both the academic community and the wider public.

Artists need to step out and engage with the world," emphasized the NCA management. This joint venture will provide the necessary tools and platforms for our students to thrive.

The NCA team also toured VUP’s state-of-the-art facilities, including studios, the earth station, the control room, and the graphic department. This tour highlighted the technological advancements and resources available at VUP, which can significantly benefit NCA.

The ceremony concluded with the exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing the beginning of a strong and fruitful partnership between VUP and NCA.
