Virtual University and NCHD Signed MoU to Promote Educational and Social Development

Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Islamabad, marking a significant step towards advancing educational, social, and economic development in Pakistan. The agreement focuses on enhancing human development indicators in the country through collaborative efforts.

The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation between the two institutions, including:

  • Prime Minister's National Literacy Drive: Each One Teach One (EOTO)
  • Internships and Community Service for Graduates
  • Joint Project Collaborations
  • Exchange of Publications
  • Seminars, Workshops, and Conferences
  • Combined Research Initiatives
  • Volunteerism and Community Work

Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Rector of Virtual University of Pakistan, led the VUP delegation at the signing ceremony. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and innovative learning solutions to address literacy and development challenges in Pakistan. "This collaboration represents a shared commitment to equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive sustainable development and economic growth," he stated.

The VUP delegation also included Prof. Dr. Arther Azim Khan, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Javed, Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology; Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah, Controller of Examinations; Muhammad Ashraf Ali Khan, Director Finance; and Mr. Aamir Hasan Khan Yousufzai, Director Planning & Development, along with other senior management members.

Representing NCHD, Director General Mr. Ali Asghar, along with senior officials, expressed optimism about the partnership. He highlighted the NCHD's commitment to improving literacy rates and promoting human development across the nation. "This MoU aligns perfectly with our mission to create opportunities for education and skill development, especially in underserved communities," said Mr. Asghar.

The ceremony concluded with mutual expressions of optimism and commitment to making a lasting impact on Pakistan's socio-economic development. Both institutions pledged to work closely to transform the vision outlined in the MoU into actionable programs that empower individuals and communities across the country.
