Virtual University celebrated 75th Independence Day of Pakistan with full zeal and zest. 

 

Rector Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti hoisted the National Flag and started the celebrations of Independence Day. 

On this occasion Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti planted a tree at VU head office to start a massive plantation drive across Pakistan.  Rector, Registrar, Faculty, Staff members planted tress besides Rector office. More than two hundred campuses across Pakistan will be following the drive to make Clean and Green Pakistan through plantation in their own cities.

To highlight sacrifices of our forefathers and to emphasize the importance of knowledge of history of Pakistan history, VU organized "All Pakistan Virtual Independence Day Quiz Competition". 

As many as 14000 students of different educational institutions from 288 different cities of Pakistan participated in this activity. A total of 130, 000 Rupees were given as cash prizes for the winners of this competition. 

A pleasant surprise about the competition was 7000 out of 14000 students were girls. Most of the student belong to small cities and towns. While talking to the audience Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti appreciated the efforts of students who participated in this quiz competition. He said the students from small cities are extremely capable of doing wonders in every field and VU is providing the platform to these talented youngsters. 

He also highlighted the sacrifices made by people of subcontinent during formation of an independent country. He said we should all play our part for the development and progress of our country. 

Dr. Arshad stressed upon the importance of education. He said that if we want to prosper then we will have to put emphasis on imparting quality education. Its only through education that we can transform ourselves from developing country to a prosperous nation.
