1. OVERSEAS EXAMINATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

Overseas students must follow the regulations for the Overseas Examination as outlined in the following link: https://handbook.vu.edu.pk/HandBook_Pages/ExaminationsOutsidePakistan.htm

a.  DATESHEET

The timings mentioned on the datesheet are according to Pakistan Standard Time. Create your datesheet from the following link: https://datesheet.vu.edu.pk/

b. TRAVEL NOTICE

Students travelling to Pakistan for exams must notify the examination department one week before departure at overseasexams@vu.edu.pk and conduct@vu.edu.pk. Students are not allowed to appear in online mode for exam from Pakistan and must physically appear at a local exam center. Failure to notify the Examination Department will result in exam scheduling issues.

2. OVERSEAS EXAM APP INSTALLATION

Students must follow the instructions below for smooth and error-free installation.

Do not use an office Windows system or an internet connection with administrator restrictions/policies.

a. HARDWARE:

Please ensure the following instructions:

• Use a Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) Laptop or PC.
• Use a Stable internet connection.
• Set Windows default language to English (United States).
• Uninstall antivirus software that may disable/block exam applications and external webcam access.

FOR MAC USER

The exam application is NOT compatible with iOS. However, a MAC user (i.e. having an intel processor) may dual boot the MAC with the official Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit version) OS by following the instructions in this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102622

NOTE: Use of third-party virtual machine software is strictly prohibited.

b. SOFTWARES:

Download and install the required software and exam application on a Windows system from

4. External Webcam (Internal webcam not allowed)
   Use Mobile as external Webcam with IRIUN Application https://www.iriun.com
   (Install on mobile and laptop/PC. Run the app on both devices with same Wi-Fi connection, and it will auto-detect in Exam App)

3. FOR DEMO TEST ONLY

Double-click the VUTES application icon on your desktop. Use student ID for both login ID and Password for logging into the exam application to take a demo test. 

For example,

Login ID: BC2304XXXXX (Write You Student VU ID)

Password: BC2304XXXXX (Write You Student VU ID)

Ensure all questions are readable and an external webcam is detected in VUTES. Attempt the complete demo test and click the finish button to submit it. No invigilators are present during the demo sessions, so there is no need to reply to messages during the demo. A student can send us their feedback at

overseasexams@vu.edu.pk

NOTE:  Login ID and password given on the datesheet will only be accessible 15 minutes before the actual exam time.

DEMO TEST SCHEDULE

A student may test their installation by joining any of the following sessions FROM (31 January 2024) to (08 February 2024), during the specified session timings (i.e., as per Pakistan Standard Time) as mentioned below:

• Session 01: 08:00 am - 09:30 am
• Session 02: 10:00 am - 11:30 am
• Session 03: 12:00 pm - 01:30 pm
• Session 04: 02:30 pm - 04:00 pm
• Session 05: 04:30 pm - 05:00 pm
• Session 06: 06:30 pm - 08:00 pm

4. EXAMINATION DAY

Please observe the following guidelines at the start of the exam session:

1. First Step
   1. Run the VUTES exam application, Remote access software and turn on external Webcam device.
   2. Login only 15 minutes before the actual paper time in VUTES with ID and password mentioned on entrance slip.
       
2. Second Step
   1. After login, send credentials (i.e., ID/Password) of Remote access software to the invigilator in the VUTES chat box.
   2. The invigilator will remotely connect to the Laptop/PC to verify student's identity, system settings, and external webcam view as per Prescribed Webcam View given in the following link:

      1. Place the Laptop/PC on a table and sit on a chair.
      2. External webcam must be placed two meters away to either left or right side and above head level.
   3. Ensure the system microphone is enabled.
       
3. Third Step:
   1. After a complete system inspection, attendance will be marked by the invigilator, and student shall attempt paper.
   2. Student shall carefully read the exam & course-related instructions and attempt the complete paper within the given time limit in VUTES.

The behavior or actions defined in the student handbook shall be liable to Unfair Means/Violation of Examinations/Misbehavior Regulations and/or immediate cancellation of a student’s paper:
