ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (2 Years)

Introduction/Description

The Associate Degree in Business Administration is a regular 2-year degree program which has been designed to equip the students with adequate knowledge and skills which would help them taking an early start of their professional career so that they can earn their livings and support their families too.

Note: Candidates holding Associate Degree can continue towards respective BS 4-year degree program. Or the student can apply for new admission towards any BS 4-Year degree program (Subject to admission eligibility with exemption/transfer of relevant qualified courses) as per policy.

Program Objectives

Following are the objectives of this program:

  • To introduce the students with fundamentals of business.
  • To prepare students for an entry/ junior level jobs or for small businesses.
  • To enable the students in understanding the today’s business environment.
  • To give them knowledge to analyze the current business moves.
  • To equip them with latest business concepts
  • To provide them a plat form where they can exercise their creative thinking and become fruitful in their early career stage.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate (equivalent to 12 years of education) with at least 45% marks.

Note

  • Candidates having ‘A’ levels are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/)
  • Candidates having 33% ~44% marks will be eligible for admission after the successful completion of “Zero  Semester”.

Course(s) exemption is allowed.

Duration

It is two-year full time study program spread over four semesters. Each semester has at least 18 weeks duration for teaching and examinations etc.

Assessment of Study Progress

The students’ study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, on-line quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), mid-term and final term exams. The mid-term and final term exams are conducted at VU’s designated centers and usually count for 80 to 85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Degree

To be eligible for the award of Associate Degree in Business Administration, a student is required to earn at least 68 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.
