Introduction
M. Phil in Education [Educational Leadership & Management] is specially geared for teachers who are either teaching or serving as administrators at all levels in private and public sector institutions and have an interest in research and would like to advance their educational career.
Program Objectives
The objectives of M.Phil Education program are to:

prepare educational leaders for educational institutions of public and private sector;

provide the learners an understanding of educational process;

develop proficiency in teaching-learning process and methodologies;

Provide skills in methodology of conducting various types of research and their importance in education;
-
Make the learners aware of various techniques of educational assessment and evaluation.
Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having 16-year of qualification with education major i.e. BS Education/ MA Education / M.Ed. with at least CGPA 2.50 out of 4 or 1st division from recognized institution, whatever is applicable, are eligible to apply.

Candidates are required to pass the VU Entry Test with at least 50% marks.

Assessment of Study Progress
The students’ study progress evaluation mechanism will be based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving research projects, on-line quizzes, graded discussion boards (GDBs), presentations and mid-term and final term examinations.
Guidelines for Research Thesis
In order to be eligible for Research Thesis, students must have:

Earned at least 18 credit hours (including 4 core and 2 specialization courses);

Achieved a CGPA of 3.00 or higher;
-
There are limited seats for research thesis track, therefore thesis will be offered only to the limited candidates having highest CGPAs after determining merit.
Note:
However, students who are not eligible for Research Thesis will be offered two courses in lieu of Research Thesis.
Guidelines for Two Courses in lieu of Research Thesis
In order to enroll for two courses in lieu of Research Thesis, students must have:

achieved a CGPA of 2.50 or higher;

earned 18 credit hours;
Award of Degree
To become eligible for the award of M. Phil in Education [Educational Leadership & Management] degree, students are required to
complete at least 30 Credit Hours of prescribed courses [For Research Thesis track: 24 Cr. Hrs. course work + 6 Cr. Hrs. Research
Thesis and for Coursework Track: 30 Cr. Hrs.] with minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.
