Dr. Summaira Sarfraz is Associate Professor in the faculty of Sciences & Humanities (Lahore Campus) at FAST-NU, Pakistan. She joined FAST-National University in 1996. She holds a PhD degree from Azad Jammu and Kashmir University. She completed her degree in 2013.  She did her MS in Applied Linguistics from University of Management and Technology, Pakistan, in 2008; and MA ELT from Kinnaird College Lahore in 1999. She also holds an MA in English and a diploma in English Language Teaching from University of Punjab, Pakistan.

Her area of research is the promotion of communicative approach to English language teaching with major emphasis on developing e-learning resources for the development of English Language skills. Her doctoral study aimed to develop the Integrated Model, based on e-learning and Learner Centered Teaching Methodologies for the improvement of cohesiveness in emotive writing of the undergraduate students. She recorded a course on Language Learning Theories for MA-ELT program at Virtual University of Pakistan.She also has ten international publications to her credit.
