Dr. Sarwet Rasool is
currently working as an Associate Professor / Chairperson – Department of
English at Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi. She has a teaching
experience of more than 18 years and has published her work in national HEC
approved journals and has presented at multiple conferences.
Dr. Sarwet holds a PhD
from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad (2001 - 2008) and a Masters
in English Literature from International Islamic University, Islamabad
(1996-1999). In addition, she also holds a Masters in TEFL (Teaching of English
as a Foreign Language) from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad (2000
–2003).
On January 26, 2008, Dr.
Sarwet won a country-wide ‘Best University Teacher’ Award for the year 2006 by the
Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and a National Star award for the category
of ‘Education (Women)’ by South Asia Publications. She has also been selected
as the ‘best professional woman’ and has been given a special Star Laureate
Award in 2008; ’Best Teacher’ award in 2006 at Fatima Jinnah Women University
on December 29, 2006. She also won the certificate
of excellence on best result of O’ Levels at APSAC in 2003, and a Team Leader Award
for Active Citizens Program, Pakistan. She is an HEC Certified Master Trainer
and has conducted Workshop on Training of Master Trainers for PCEPT/MTFPDP
program organized by NAHE-Learning Innovation Division (HEC) from November 1-4,
2010 in Lahore.
Dr. Sarwet has also
recorded a course on History of English Language (ENG501) for MA-ELT program at
Virtual University of Pakistan.
