Dr. Muhammad Islam

Dr. Muhammad Islam completed his PhD in Applied Linguistics in 2013 from University of Leeds, UK. He started his teaching career as a lecturer at National University of Modern Languages, Lahore in 2003. In 2004, he started teaching in the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.  From 2008-2013 he taught at the University of the Punjab. In 2009, he completed his Masters from the University of Leicester, UK and returned to resume his lectureship at the University of the Punjab. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Punjab.

Dr. Islam is a published author of a book titled “Reinterpretation of L2 Motivation in the Contemporary World: A Study of Pakistani University Students”, as well as the co-author of several published articles. He has presented at various national and international conferences. He has been awarded the "Most Talented Teacher Award" for three consecutive years (2002-2004).

His research interests lie in Language Education, Second/Foreign Language Acquisition, L2 Motivation and Attitudes, English and the Contemporary World, and English Language Teaching. He is a member of ‘Society for Research into Higher Education’ (SRHE), UK since 2012.
