Professor Dr Mukhtar Ahmed was appointed as Member (Operations & Planning) of the HEC in January 2005. An MSc graduate from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, he went on to complete an MBA and PhD from the University of California, Riverside. He served as an academician and administrator in various Pakistani universities including COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and Virtual University of Pakistan.
