Teaching Experience:

ØTeaching “Islamic Studies” as member of visiting faculty at Information Technology University, Lahore since April, 2014.

Ø Taught“Islamic Studies” as member of visiting faculty at University of Central Punjab, Lahore two semesters from March 2014 to March 2015.

Ø Delivered lectures on “Understanding Islam” to members of Understanding Islam, UK from May 2012 to November 2013.

Ø  Taught ‘Da’wahwalIrshad’ and ‘Islam and Modernity’ at University of Central Punjab to post-graduate classes. September 2009- May 2012

Ø  Delivered lectures on “Islamic Studies” to the first year students of medicine and pharmacy of Ziauddin University, Karachi in 2009.

Ø  Delivered lectures on “Islamic Studies” to the first year students of medicine of Agha Khan University, Karachi in the years 2008, 2009, and 2011.

Ø  Conducted a two-day workshop on Medical Ethics at Agha Khan University Hospital along with Dr Hilary Bok, Associate Professor of philosophy, John Hopkins University. The workshop was conducted jointly by Agha Khan University and John Hopkins University. It was held in 2007.   

Ø  Taught at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) from 1995 to 2006 (joined as a member of permanent faculty in July 1998). Subjects taught i) at the BSc Level: Islamic Studies, Islam and Modernization, Issues in Islamic Tradition, and Islamic Economics  and ii) at the MBA Level: Islamic Ethics in Business;

Ø  Assistant Professor, Social Sciences Department at LUMS from 1998 to 2005. Associate Professor, Social Sciences Department from 2005 onwards.

Ø  Conducted one-day seminars for three years (2005-2007) on “Islamic Sources of Knowledge” for the participants of one-year’s post-graduate diploma course on Bio-Ethics conducted by SUIT, Karachi.

Ø  Taught at Institute of Business Administration (I.B.A.), University of the Punjab from 1984 to 1998 (1986-1998), as member of the permanent faculty; courses taught included “Business Communication and Report Writing”, “Principles of Economics”, and “Islamic Ethics in Business and Corporate Law”.
