Professional Overview Since 2002, I have served as the Transmission/Traffic/Planning Incharge at the Virtual University of Pakistan (VU), overseeing the broadcasting operations of VU's four television channels (VUTV). With over two decades of experience, I specialize in managing the end-to-end workflow of digital television broadcasting, ensuring seamless transmission, high-quality content delivery, and efficient resource allocation. Broadcasting Operations Management I supervise broadcasting operations, including the preparation of fixed point charts, daily cue sheets, and channel presentations for all four VUTV channels. I manage the file-based workflow for digital broadcasting, covering transmission play-out, ingest, encoding, quality control, and content storage systems, ensuring compliance with technical and editorial standards. Planning and Production Supervision As Planning Incharge, I assign production and post-production shifts across studios, NLE, and graphic design teams. I oversee the course development process, from auditions to final delivery, and manage social media posting and VUTV telecasts to maximize audience reach. TV Cable Distribution and Advertisement Management I handle TV cable distribution and advertisements across Pakistan, liaising with satellite operators, cable operators, and other channels. I coordinate with PEMRA to resolve regulatory issues and ensure compliance with national broadcasting standards. Traffic Management and Video Library Oversight As Traffic Incharge, I supervise the video library, ensuring proper archiving and accessibility of content from production and post-production. I also manage VUTV’s social media activities to enhance online engagement. Censor Board Responsibilities As a censor board member, I have reviewed and censored over 200 courses and programs, ensuring adherence to ethical, cultural, and regulatory standards. Conclusion Through my multifaceted role, I have consistently contributed to VUTV’s success by ensuring efficient operations, high-quality content delivery, and compliance with industry standards, advancing the university’s broadcasting and educational goals.
