The Department of Psychology, Virtual University of Pakistan, conducted an engaging hands-on training session titled “Mastering ChatGPT: Unlocking the Potentials of AI” on 13th September 2024. The session was designed for the department's faculty to enhance their understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications in academia and research. Dr. Ambreen Anjum (Incharge, Department of Psychology) was the focal person of this event.
Ms. Ayesha Farooq (Lecturer, Psychology) and Ms. Sidrah Shafeeq (Lecturer, Psychology), the resource persons for the event, led the participants through the various features of ChatGPT and the different GPT models. They provided practical demonstrations on how AI can be used to streamline academic tasks, improve research methodologies, and support teaching. A significant portion of the training was dedicated to exploring the ethical issues surrounding AI usage, including data privacy, bias, and responsible AI deployment.
The event was well-received by the faculty members, who appreciated the opportunity to learn about the emerging potentials of AI in education and research. This training is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to incorporate cutting-edge technology into its academic framework.
