The 7th meeting of the Board of Studies in Sociology was held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the board room, Head Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Islamabad. Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah, Dean Faculty of Arts (Controller of Examination), warmly welcomed all esteemed board members. All members came from prestigious institutes representing provincial diversity and practices. Dr. Muhammad Zaman, Professor, Department of Sociology, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Dr. Aijaz Ali Wassan, Professor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Sindh, Dr. Mazhar Hussain Bhutta, Chairman Department of Sociology, University of Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi and Dr. Syed Rashid Ali, Associate professor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, attended meeting in person. Prof. Dr. Rubeena Ashraf Zakar, Director Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore and Dr. Bashir Ahmed Kakar, Associate Professor, Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, attended online. Dr. Sadia Jabeen, Incharge, Department of Sociology, formally presented seven agendas one by one to BOS members. The main agendas under discussion were revision in the BS and Associate Degree programs as per HEC undergraduate policy. Moreover, prospects to launch the M. Phil sociology program as per HEC graduate policy were also discussed on the table. All esteemed board members provided their valuable suggestions and input on each agenda and approved the agendas unanimously. The meeting ended with valuable suggestions, appreciation of the agenda, and a vote of thanks.
