The Department of English conducted an online orientation session on November 14, 2024 in the Meeting Room 1 at Lawrence Road Office, VUP. All the members of the Department of English at LRO were present whereas faculty members from other cities and students joined via Zoom link. The session started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Dr. Qurrat-ul-Ain, Head of the Department of English, initiated the session by giving the students an introduction to VUP and providing general guidelines about Study at VU. Ms. Talaat Mariyam and Ms. Rabea Tahir were the presenters of the session. They guided the students about LMS and its features, semester activities, system of examination, project instructions, etc. At the end, there was a question-and-answer session (Q/A session). The Q/A session was moderated by Ms. Afshan Asghar (Coordinator, General English Courses) while Muhammad Abdullah took important notes of students’ questions. Students asked various questions regarding LMS functioning, semester activities, lecture videos, project courses, research publications, exemption of courses, assessment scheme, grading, etc. Several members of the Department including Talaat Mariyam, Afshan Asghar, Dr. Qurrat-ul-Ain, Shafqet Yasmin, Saria Kazmi, Dr. Rana Imran, Muhammad Imran, and Rabea Tahir efficiently and proactively responded to students' queries. Overall, the session was successful and proved to be fruitful for the students.
