Virtual University of Pakistan Faculty Member Participates in G²LM|LIC Mentoring Programme Workshop at IZA, Bonn

The Department of Economics, Virtual University of Pakistan, is proud to announce that Mr. Waqar Ul Hassan, Instructor of Economics, recently participated in the G²LM|LIC Mentoring Programme Workshop, hosted by the prestigious IZA – Institute of Labor Economics, Bonn, Germany dated 11-12 March, 2025.

The G²LM|LIC (Gender, Growth, and Labor Markets in Low-Income Countries) Programme, a joint initiative of IZA and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), is dedicated to supporting young researchers from low-income countries conducting research in applied microeconomics.

During the workshop at IZA, Mr. Hassan had the invaluable opportunity to present his master’s dissertation and engage in discussions with renowned economists, including Prof. Oriana Bandiera (Director of G²LM|LIC, LSE). The event also facilitated intellectual exchanges with other researchers, broadening perspectives on contemporary issues in gender, labor markets, poverty and economic development.

The Department of Economics at Virtual University of Pakistan congratulates Mr. Waqar Ul Hassan on this achievement and remains committed to fostering faculty involvement in global research collaborations.
