The Department of Education aimed to promote inclusive education by participating in a three-week "Training of Trainers on Introduction to Computer Basics for the Visually Impaired (ICBVI)" from November 18 to December 06, 2024. This training was organized by the Professional Development Center (PDC), Virtual University of Pakistan, in collaboration with ST Foundation, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and DeafTawk. The purpose of training was to empower visually impaired students with essential computer skills to participate confidently in the digital world. Two faculty members, Dr. Hina Amin and Dr. Sehar Rashid, participated in the training and were selected as Master Trainers.
Renowned trainers from ST foundation, Prof. Dr. Christian Bernataggi from Italy and Mr. Sada Kane from Senegal, led the training sessions. Both trainers were experienced in technology-based education of differently abled individuals. The training workshop was a blend of theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. This initiative enabled participants to apply their learning to real-world scenarios, fostering greater inclusivity and digital accessibility.
