Exciting Day 1 of the 3-Day Workshop on Generative AI in Education!

The inaugural session of the 3-day workshop on Generative AI in Education, organized by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE), VUP in collaboration with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and the National Productivity Organization (NPO), and co-hosted by Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, marked a promising start. The workshop is chaired by Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem, Rector of the Virtual University of Pakistan, and Professor Dr. Irshad Ahmed Arshad, Chairperson of the Department of Statistics.

The event commenced with insightful discussions on the fundamentals of AI and its transformative impact on education. Participants delved into the concepts and benefits of personalized learning, laying the groundwork for the upcoming sessions. Dr. Fakhar Inam Raja, Director of Quality Enhancement, provided an overview of the workshop's purpose, highlighting its significance for VU and other universities' faculty and technical staff.

Expert Resource Persons Dr. Akira Murata, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Chiba Keizai University in Chiba, Japan, and Dr. Asma Shahid Kazi, Associate Professor in the Department of Elementary and Teacher Education at Lahore College for Women University, conducted Day 1 sessions, enriching the participants with their expertise.

Stay tuned for Day 2 and Day 3, where we will dive deeper into AI tools and platforms, designing personalized learning experiences, and addressing ethical considerations in AI-based education.
