Study Programs	Admission Eligibility Criteria
MBA (equivalent to MS)	Candidates having 16 years of qualification with minimum 50% marks or CGPA 2 out of 4 from any recognized institution in any discipline are eligible to get admission. Candidates having 16 years of qualification in Business/ Management/ Commerce/ Public Administration/ Equivalent will be eligible for a maximum exemption of 30 credit hours as per the rules. However, it will be mandatory for every candidate/student to pass the Entry Test, conducted on the pattern of GAT (General) by the Virtual University of Pakistan as per HEC policy, with at least a 50% score. After passing the written test, the candidate will have to appear in an interview. These students need to complete 60 credit hours of coursework for the award of the degree. Note: Limited seats are available on merit basis.

Diploma Bioinformatics Molecular Biology	Bachelor's degree (14 years) from a recognized university/ institute in relevant fields of Biological/ Life Sciences with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4. Note: An HEC equivalence certificate will be required in case of foreign or local qualification that require additional clarification. Limited seats on merit basis within Pakistan only. “Zero Semester” is not applicable.

1. WHO CAN APPLY FOR ADMISSION

   The applicants who fulfill the minimum prescribed admission requirements for the particular study program as published at VU website. Such applicants must have the following:

   1. Valid CNIC / B Form number (scanned copy not mobile photo)
   2. Valid Email address (Preferably applicant’s own)
   3. Cell Phone number (Preferably applicant’s own)
   4. Photographs of applicant (Passport Size with Blue Background - scanned not mobile photo)
   5. Scanned copies of the educational documents with clear readability (not mobile photo).
   6. Equivalence Certificate from IBCC or HEC in case the applicant having A / O Level Certificates or Foreign Degrees as applicable.
   7. Course Contents, original NOC from Previous Institute/University and original Incomplete Result Card (Only for the applicants who are seeking admission on the basis of credit transfer/course exemption through General Route based on the Incomplete Bachelor’s Result Card).
   8. Admissions to the Foreign or Dual National students will be offered after completing necessary codal formalities / confirmation from the respective offices (HEC, vetting agencies). Such applicants may visit VU website link https://www.vu.edu.pk/pages/AdmissionForeign.aspx
2. INFORMATION FOR MERIT BASED PROGRAMS
   1. For MSCS and MBA (Equ. to MS) programs each candidate is required to pass the Virtual University’s Entry Test (with minimum 50% marks). Limited seats on merit basis.
   2. The applicants seeking admission towards Biological Programs BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, BS Zoology Programs, Diploma in Bioinformatics & Diploma in Molecular Biology will be required to select Lab preferences as merit will be determined LAB Wise.
   3. The applicants applying towards merit based biological programs are directed to select the lab preference carefully. Merit is determined on the basis of lab city based on the available seats. Therefore, once admission is confirmed against any lab city then biological students shall not be entitled to change lab city during entire study duration.
   4. The merit list of the successful candidates of Biological Science & MS Programs will be published at VU website on the prescribed admission schedule dates.
   5. Successful candidate will deposit fee within due date.
3. GENERAL INFORMATION
   1. Admissions will open according to the published admission schedule.
   2. Applicants are advised to enter their correct CNIC number(s) when filling out the Registration form during "SIGN UP" to avoid rejection of the admission form.
   3. Admission forms submitted after the due date will not be accepted.
   4. Documents must be uploaded in the Registration Interface according to the given instructions.
   5. Incomplete admission forms will be rejected. Carefully upload readable, complete sets of documents to avoid any inconvenience.
   6. If a candidate is already enrolled at VU and their admission status is regular/inactive, they must cancel their old admission before applying for a new admission or marking pass out.
   7. Applicants should deposit the admission fee for one admission form only. If an applicant submits fees for multiple programs, the University is authorized to cancel one or all admissions and confiscate the deposited fees.
   8. Applicants must provide accurate information without concealing any facts.
   9. The University will blacklist and confiscate the fee/degree at any time if false information or bogus documents are found in the admission form.
   10. The University reserves the right to disregard admissions for applicants with incomplete admission forms or those who have paid the admission form fee/dues after the due date.
4. RESULT AWAITING APPLICANTS (HSSC/Intermediate):
   1. Result awaiting applicants (HSSC/Intermediate – Board of Intermediate & secondary Education) may apply for admissions based on their Part-I result card of the HSSC/Intermediate, under the following condition: -
   1. At least 45% marks in Part-I (HSSC/intermediate) for ADP/BS programs except ADP/BS Computing programs (e.g. BSCS/IT/SE).
   2. For ADP/BSIT/BSCS/BSSE computing programs applicant must have at least 50% marks in Part-I with subjects specified in the admission eligibility criteria.
   3. Such applicants will be admitted provisionally and must upload and provide their Part-II / Final results in the LMS/Registration by the announced date. Failure to provide or upload the Part-II/Final Result card will result in the cancellation of the applicant’s admission, and the fee will be refunded according to University policy.
   4. Additionally, such applicants must submit the following documents at the nearest Virtual University Campus or courier them directly to the Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad, on or before the commencement of classes (October 14, 2024): -
      1. Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
      2. Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) two copies.
      3. Two Passport Size Photographs with blue back ground.
      4. Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)
   5. Result awaiting applicants will be categorized at the time of filling admission form/registration.

   NOTE: In case, successful/selected Result Awaiting Students fails to submit the above-mentioned documents within the stipulated time frame then the University may block student’s Learning Management System (LMS) OR permanently cancel student’s enrolment.

   2. MSCS, BS Psychology BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Zoology, Diploma in Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics Programs are NOT AVAILABLE FOR OVERSEAS APPLICANT.
   3. Zero Semester is not applicable on the following Programs: -

5. Course Exemption:
   1. General Route
      The applicants of the below category can apply for Course Exemption through general route:
      1. Applicant(s) intend to apply for Course Exemptions based on already qualified courses or Incomplete Degree/Diploma/Certificate from VU; subsequent to admission eligibility of the desired program; qualified within last five years.
      2. Applicants studying at any HEC recognized University/Institute and intend to transfer/exempt their qualified courses towards Virtual University of Pakistan.
      NOTE: The applicants applying for Course Exemptions through General Route are required to submit Course Exemption Proforma in Hard Copy filled at the time of filling admission form along with original NOC, Original Incomplete transcript issued by the concerned authority of the University/Institute and Course Content of qualified courses.
   2. BS Entry Route (Admission into BS Program)
      1. The applicants who have completed Associate Degree/Bachelor’s degree e.g. BA/B.Sc./B. Com, Associate Degree and BS degree programs may apply for admission through BS Entry Route option. However, such applicants shall meet the minimum prescribed admission eligibility criteria of the BS Program
      2. The Equivalence Committee of the University will evaluate the course exemptions on case-to-case basis based on applicant’s qualification.
      3. Credit Hours Transfer / Course Exemption policy/rules are given at https://www.vu.edu.pk/Admissions/TransferStudents.aspx
      4. Decision of the Equivalence Committee will be communicated to applicants via email.
      5. Such applicants should pay the admission fee after the decision of their BS Entry Route exemption application.
6. SUBMISSION OF HARD COPY DOCUEMENTS BY THE PROVISIONALLY ADMITTED STUDENTS:
1. Result awaiting provisionally admitted students shall upload their Part-II/Final Result Card from the LMS/Registration interface on or before October 14, 2024. The admission office will verify the uploaded result and the confirm the acceptance of admission; otherwise failing to upload their Part-II/Final Result Card such applicant’s admission will be marked cancelled.
2. All provisionally admitted students shall submit hard copy of their documents at the nearest selected Virtual University campus or the Registrar’s Office /Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad OR Virtual University of Pakistan, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Defence Road, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore.
3. Provisionally admitted students shall be responsible to submit the following documents before the commencement of mid-semester Examinations Fall 2024: -
   1. Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
   2. Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) two copies.
   3. Two Passport Size Photographs with blue back ground.
   4. Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)

NOTE:

1. The University reserves the right to block or cancel the admission of provisionally admitted students of the result awaiting admitted students who fail to upload their documents in LMS/Registration interface by the prescribed date, October 14, 2024.
2. The University reserves the right to block or cancel the admission of provisionally admitted students who fail to submit two set hard copies of required documents before the commencement of mid-semester examinations.
3. Fees of such students will be refunded as per the University policy.

• The University reserves the right to straight away Reject the incomplete admission forms during the closing/last dates of the admissions without giving further chance to the applicant for completion of admission forms after closing of admissions.
